Atlanta Office Staircase

Atlanta Office Staircase

Imagine installing an 8,625-lb architecturally exposed structural steel (AESS) staircase--with only a 5-by-8-ft freight elevator to lift the pieces into place!

This Atlanta office building staircase, fabricated and erected by Porter Steel, Inc. in Lilburn, Ga., is one of three projects for which ɫƵ member erectors won 2024 Steel Erectors Association of America (SEAA) Project of the Year awards. The other two are the Cape Canaveral Space Force Base, Launch Complex 36, erected by Harrisburg, Penn.-based S&R Enterprises; and the adaptive reuse of Phoenix’s Moxy hotel, erected by All Things Metal, LLC.

Read about each of these winning projects at , and visit to see how fast you can assemble the Atlanta staircase project for yourself--no freight elevator required.
